“Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.” ~Jane Jacobs

Trafalgar Square

Cities truly provide variety and opportunity for all sorts of people. I have been continually surprised and blessed by the variety of people in this city! Just walking down the street you can hear different languages being spoken, see diverse people walking about, and feel like you are adding something to this city that gives so much. I love sharing my past experiences with the people around me while making new memories. I am forever grateful for this amazing city and the impact it is having on my life!

Even alone on the tube you can feel the life of the city pulsing around you.

After a wonderful week of further London exploring I had my first day at my internship! Business Lauchpad, UK is an amazing nonprofit charity that supports young entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, and providing them with practical advise. I am going to be working with them over the next few months on fundraising and outreach! I am so excited to be able to become apart of their culture, and make an impact here in the United Kingdom.

Those of you who know me personally will understand that I have a deep love and passion for movies! So, it comes as no shock that I did a British film romantic comedy tour of London! It was so much fun to be able to see iconic movie places right before my eyes, all while going to each corner of London. Instead of explaining the places I was able to see here are the photos with captions explaining the movie/scene:

Movie: Notting Hill
Scene: Hugh Grant’s Apartment- Notting Hill Market
Hard to see the blue door in color, so this photo shows the amazing street it is located on.

Movie: Love Actually
Scene: Keira Knightly’s apartment where “Mark” pretends to be carolers while confessing his love for her.

Movie: Bridget Jones Diary: Edge of Reason & Wimbledon
Scenes: Fight scene between Hugh Grant and Colin Furth; Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany’s midnight walk by the fountains

Movie: Lots and lots of films that have taken place in London!
Scene: London skyline

So glad I got to see London through the lenses of some of my favorite films. Each new experience that I take ahold of makes me fall in love even more with London. On another front, I cooked dinner for my host family last night. I did my specialty—pan friend raviolis, bruschetta, and cassata cake! I am so blessed to be in a loving home with a family that is so full of life. They are an amazing support system that has been helping support me through this amazing time.

Leaving for Edinburgh, Scotland this week for a school excursion! So excited to visit this amazing city—more to come!
